La Settimana della Biodiversità

In celebration of the International Year of Biological Diversity (2010), Bioversity International’s Diversity for Life campaign recently sponsored a week-long celebration of biodiversity in music, video, and art. The festival included keynote addresses, roundtable discussions, concerts, exhibits and workshops for children. Based in Rome at the Auditorium Parco della Musica, La Settimana della Biodiversità sought to promote a broad recognition of the leading role that Italy has played in supporting the conservation and use of agricultural biodiversity all around the world. The festival provided an unprecedented opportunity to raise awareness of the value of agricultural biodiversity to the lives of human beings.
