Activities

Diversity for Life will host a series of activities around the world addressed to the campaign’s target audiences: policymakers, the media and schools.

An oral history project will foster inter-generational dialogue on how diversity—agricultural, human and cultural—has influenced our lives.

Teaching the teachers is helping students to discover the value of biodiversity and its impact on every aspect of our lives.

Training workshops for journalists will focus on the role that the conservation and use of agricultural biodiversity can play in addressing the contemporary challenges facing agriculture and development.

During the International Year of Biological Diversity (2010), Diversity for Life will sponsor a weeklong celebration of biodiversity in music, video, poetry, drama and art. Based in Rome, La Settimana della Biodiversità will highlight the critical role that Italy has played in supporting the conservation and use of agricultural biodiversity all around the world.

Diversity for Life will work with local woman’s groups in Kenya and Peru to develop radio talk shows on traditional foods, nutrition, health and culture.
